The Gas Safe Register has replaced CORGI in Great Britain and the Isle of Man.  The register exists to protect consumers and their property from dangerous gas work.  By law, anyone carrying out work on consumer gas installations and appliances must be on the Gas Safe Register.

Competent Persons Scheme

The following certificates are accepted for the the Competent Persons Scheme:

  • City & Guilds Energy Efficiency Certificate 6084
    Training is currently funded in England and Northern Ireland (the Skills for Business Network is negotiating funding for training in Wales and Scotland). City & Guilds approved training centres can be found through the freephone helpline: 08080 222 100
  • Building Engineering Services (ConstructionSkills)
    No funding is available and therefore a full cost will be charged for training and assessment.  Centres offering this certificate
  • BPEC Certification
    No funding is available and therefore a full cost will be charged for training and assessment. Details on the BPEC Certification certificate
  • LOGIC Certification
    No funding is available and therefore a full cost will be charged for training and assessment. Details on the LOGIC Certification certificate
  • NIC Certification
    No funding is available and therefore a full cost will be charged for training and assessment. Visit the NIC Certification website
