The key priorities within the North West that will enable the regional action plan to impact quickly are:
- Expand links across the North West region with career advice organisations and the developing 14-19 Diploma consortia, to ensure that career opportunities and pathways are clear for all wishing to enter the sector;
- Extend the links between Further Education and Higher Education providers to enable progression through the career pathways;
- Develop a range of quality demand-led training provision to support sector employers to be enable access to training, to suit their business development and productivity needs within the region, with appropriate funding support where available;
- Ensure that the training provision within the region supports the growing requirements for environmental technologies to enable the region to meet its carbon reduction targets, through the continued development of skills, of businesses within the sector;
- Continue to extend the range of Higher Education provision to support the professional, business development and management and leadership requirements of the sector.
