WCS support resources for Part B Certification in building services engineering
Initially, through the Development Programme for Train to Gain and more recently through the World Class Skills (WCS) Programme, SummitSkills has worked collaboratively with the Learning and Skills Improvement Service and the Learning and Skills Network to produce and promote a suite of Training Quality Standard Part B resources to support providers seeking certification of excellence in building services engineering.
What are the resources?
Readiness Check
The Readiness Check is designed to enable a training provider to compare the systems and processes that they currently have in place, against the requirements of the TQS Part B. This means it can be used a quick first check or audit tool to ensure all the required systems and processes have been implemented, prior to the submission of a Part B application.

Development Guide
The Development Guide is designed to support the organisational development of training providers in building services engineering as they make progress towards TQS Part B certification.

Application Guide
The Application Guide is designed to assist training providers to complete a high quality TQS Part B application in building services engineering. It would only be appropriate to work immediately with this document if a training provider is able to answer Yes to all (or nearly all) of the questions in the Readiness Check.
