The Training Quality Standard
The Training Quality Standard (formerly known as the ‘New Standard’) is an assessment framework and accreditation process for training providers in England, including those previously recognised as CoVEs. It is designed to recognise excellence in delivering training and development solutions to employers. The standard started with a mandate from the 2006 FE Reform White Paper ‘Raising Skills, Improving Life Chances’, building upon to earlier projects to improve quality assurance for employers using the public FE system. Part A of the standard accredits how well a training provider can deliver a high quality, responsive customer experience to an employer, whilst Part B focuses on areas where organisations have expertise in a particular sector. SummitSkills is involved in reviewing applications for Part B in relation to building services engineering. This will entail evaluating each submission and preparing a report which will be used as part of the assessment process. The standard offers training providers a comprehensive framework through which to evaluate their strategies and results, allowing the best organisations to win new business on the basis of their proven capability. It will raise employer confidence by increasing the responsiveness and quality of delivery by training providers, creating a quality mark to easily identify market leaders. Further information
