Support for businesses in the north west

SummitSkills in the north west of England is helping employers in the region to keep up to date with the current funding available to help support them through the recession:
- Business Link North West: details of the North West Regional Development Agency's (NWDA) key support services and an updated summary of national assistance recently announced by the Government to support the region's businesses.
- Merseyside SkillWorks funding: the Learning and Skills Council has announced an additional £4.5 million European co-financed funding specifically aimed at helping Merseyside employers with training development during the recession.
- North West Venture Capital and Loan Fund: the NWDA has announced a £15 million transitional venture capital & loan fund for businesses in the region, which is being supported by the European Regional Development Fund. The new fund has been created to ensure there is no gap in public finance support for local businesses while details on the new long-term Northwest Venture Capital & Loan Fund are completed.
