News archive for Jul 2011Safeguarding standards with simplified frameworks20 Jul 2011 For the first time, the building services engineering sector in England has a set of integrated flexible apprenticeship frameworks to safeguard standards and enhance the quality of services across the electrotechnical, heating and ventilating, plumbing, and refrigeration and air conditioning industries. 18 Jul 2011 A building services engineering (BSE) Foundation degree being delivered by Liverpool Community College and awarded by Liverpool John Moores University is the first to secure the endorsement of both SummitSkills and FdF (Foundation degree Forward). Competition heats up at the SkillPIPE UK wide semi-finals05 Jul 2011 Talented young heating engineers went head to head at the recent SkillPIPE skills competition heats, held at Salford City College last week (29 – 30 June 2011). SkillPIPE, along with SkillELECTRIC, SkillPLUMB and SkillFRIDGE competitions are organised by sector skills council SummitSkills.
