SummitSkills has joined together with Asset Skills and CITB-ConstructionSkills to form the Green Deal Skills Alliance, dedicated to helping businesses understand the opportunities that the new scheme will generate. Find out more here.
The Green Deal Consultation The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has carried out a consultation on the Green Deal, to inform the secondary legislation which will specify how the scheme will work.
SummitSkills encouraged stakeholders and organisations within the BSE sector, with an interest in operating within the Green Deal framework, to make sure they took part in the DECC online consultation. We also submitted a response on behalf of the building services engineering sector.
PAS 2030 and the Green Deal Code of Practice PAS 2030:2012 Improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings. Specification for installation process, process management and service provision. PAS (Publicly Available Specification) provides a specification for the installation of energy efficiency measures (EEM) in existing buildings. The PAS achieves this by focusing particularly on the necessary installation processes for the measures, the management of the process that guides their installation and the quality of the service provided to the customer before, during and after the installation. For more information about PAS 2030 and to order a copy click here. For information about the Green Deal Code of Practice click here.
