Strategic Plan 2015 – 2018

SummitSkills Strategic Plan 2015-2018We’re delighted to announce that on 01 April we started work on activities within our new 2015-2018 Strategic Plan.

Since our transition from a Sector Skills Council (SSC) to a Standard Setting Organisation (SSO) we have become more efficient and now better reflect the needs of industry, acting as the voice of employers of all sizes across the BSE sector on industry

We continue to act as the voice of the industry through our core areas of work: developing and maintaining standards, maintaining apprenticeship frameworks and managing qualifications. We are also involved in a number of other key activities such as certification and the low carbon agenda.

Our Vision

To be the UK employer-led organisation responsible for ensuring excellent skills in the building services engineering sector

Strategic Objectives

  • Objective One: To be recognised by employers, governments and other key stakeholders as the independent Standard Setting Organisation for the BSE sector in the UK and the leading voice on skills.
  • Objective Two: To be the employer-led, coordinating organisation for the development and maintenance of qualifications and units.
  • Objective Three: To develop and maintain apprenticeship frameworks that meet the needs of BSE employers.
  • Objective Four: To ensure that National Occupational Standards for the BSE sector are maintained and enhanced in line with employer demands.
  • Objective Five: To provide a cost effective certification and Modern Apprenticeship issuing service for the BSE sector across the UK.
  • Objective Six: To act as the UK lead on skills in the low carbon agenda for the BSE sector.
